Trap door leading to roof was secured by pole fastened to door by wire.

Trap door couldn't be opened from outside.

On roof there is an iron and barbed wire fence dividing 211 from 213.

At back of building I found this rope fastened to two stanchions in fence.

The end of the rope was down in the yard of 211.

It was as shown in Ext.7, and passed outside window of 3rd floor. Longer piece 85' long, shorter 26'.

It wouldn't be difficult to climb down rope and enter cubicle. After daylight I went to roof of kitchen of 211.

From there I could see plainly into rear cubicle.

I could see a little more that half the bed from head downwards.

At 2.30 that morning it was dark and cloudy, no moon.

Fence on roof has a gate in it, wide open, no lock on it.

I walked along to 241 and so down to the street no difficulty I examined backyard of 211.

Bottom window had two lower panee on l:ft hand side broken. Rape hung about 3 or 5 feet from thṛt window, about middle of window.

About 30 feet of rope on ground.

I tested rope and it bore my weight.

Ground floor is wooden clog makers' shop.

I got both back on 27th July.

I Am followed trail of blood which was a continuous line.

It went along soavenging lane, across Poplar Street and on to far side of Cedar "treet.

In Cedar treet trail went along pavement towards Tai Nam Street and then turned back into lane and continued to within 10 feet of Prince Edward Road.

From 213 to Poplar Street average distance between paints was 6 ft From Poplar t.to Cedart. 6'4".
